TRAINMASTER
The Trainmaster is responsible for seting up specific work effort for the running session. He sets up specific rolling stock to be sent to specific town on the railroad layout
We currently have 10 freight trains built up and available for running sessions. Just to familarize everyone with the trains:
4 leave from Michigan yard and will be built up and ready to go from there.
Milts Mooring turn
Rock Ridge turn
Kinderhook turn
Clarksville turn
2 leave from Strand and will be built up and ready to go from there.
Wilson Bend turn
Kinderhook turn
3 leave from Sand Hill
Ore unit train
Coal unit train
T-Bone switch out
1 leave from Kinderhook
Orange Blossom
All will be identifable with a caboose, those in MI yard and Strand will have the "grey brick" marker.
The "grey brick" marker trains are the turns, and have train sheets which the engineer use to properly switch the cars.
The Ore and Coal unit trains are just for running around the double track main and require no switching.
T-Bone switch out and Orange Blossom have cards with them in the card box.
We currently have 2 passenger trains with cards available as well. The cards for them are in the card box.
We currently have 1 Container 3-way switch out train: The card for this is in the card box.
We would like everyone who wishes to run a train at the running session to sign up one of these trains, or a train of your own design. There is a new sign up sheet for controlling the frequencies and trains.
For now, Dispacting duties will be handled by the Trainmaster. Volunteers are, as always, very welcome, but if noone is interested the Trainmaster will Dispatch.
This sign in sheet should be used before running a train at the running session. This will enable the Dispatcher to maintain control of the frequencies as well as the Dispatching of the trains in an orderly fashion. Your help with this is appreciated.
Before beginning a running session, I would appreciate a short 5 minute "start up" meeting in the club room, so everyone knows who is doing what, and the dispatcher has all the information needed to properly dispatch. This meeting will start at 7:00pm. Running to begin at 7:05 or thereabouts.
If there are any ideas on how to improve the running sessions, please let me know.
